The Band

Picture 1

Just Floyd, a five piece tribute to possibly one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Pink Floyd.

Based in the Maidstone area of Kent but playing across the country, the guys in Just Floyd have been playing together since the middle of 2004, with Dan being the newest member, the other guys have been playing Pink Floyd tracks in a band for almost 10 years, but they all have been playing for a lot longer than that.

As stated on the home page the guys do not pretend to be Pink Floyd by dressing up, can anyone actually say if Pink Floyd had a style? They perform around a two hour set that includes favourite tracks from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall. They do not have a definitive set list as they try and vary the songs they perform, especially on a return visit to a venue.

By adding in little nuances that some other Floyd tributes seem to forget, they seem to please even the most die hard Pink Floyd fans. With comments heard in the crowd such as "spot on" and "absolutely brilliant", and what they say after the gig to the band members, we like to think the fans are pleased with the bands performance.

Just Floyd was formed after all of the members of Pink Side of the Moon, except for the singer, quit for personal reasons.

Talking of their previous incarnation they had very favourable reviews on Floyd fan websites such as www.pinkfloydz.com (Fleeting Glimpse), www.braindamage.co.uk and www.floyd-fans.com. Getting a review posted on Fleeting Glimpse is an achievement in its own right.

Just Floyd has it's own P.A. system for use in venues that cannot provide one.
The band can play at most venues from reasonably small venues to much larger theatres, clubs and outdoor venues. The size of the venue, i.e. the bands playing area, governs the amount of lights that the band can realistically use, also the amount of power available. With over 2000* beams of light in a multitude of colours, the computerised lighting system, using the latest intelligent lighting systems, which is also being added to on a regular basis, certainly helps create a show that is both memorable and does the band justice in trying to provide that Pink Floyd experience.

If you require any further details then please do not hesitate to contact Just Floyd by using the Contact menu option.

* Some of these 2000 beams are made up from LED lights.
